Yes to answer your question – we offer tours throughout the day. Usually people who know of our infamous art displays – generally don’t want to come back, which usually does the trick. Ants, moths, those annoying loud beetle things that refuse to die unless you hear that shivering crack of their shell, and of course those wonderful little ants. At one point I actually felt bad killing the ants. I think it was because of that Disney movie – where the Ant becomes the good guy and its just so horrible to think youre killing one of them soldiers so I tried to kind of just convince them to go away. “for your own safety – go on, get out of here! If my dad sees you, it will be down the drain for you!!” Sadly, they don’t usually listen, end up crawling back, and unfortunately I give up and just squish em.
Sad I know – but that’s the life living in a bug cemetery… as I was walking to the bathroom this afternoon I was introduced to the newest addition to the collection. Granted the little sucker doesn’t have a name but I can tell you he did have wings (flattened against the wall of course) my immediate reaction was “is this alive?!?!?!?!” and my husband reassured me “no, its dead” – aha, so its part of the collection ….”has it been categorized?” I think we should start naming our art pieces. Pete. Pete sounds like a good name for a bug… well this particular one maybe… oh but before I forget, we don’t allow Bees into our museum halls / cemeteries. No way. Those are sent right into the recycle bin… Does that mean we’re racist or prejudiced? That just becomes the little guys sting – I don’t like them and refuse to keep them? Quite possibly, but they freak me out man !!!! yeps, I guess I am a racist. (they are black you know :)
And so my life continues as the curator of this museum… im hoping to shut down soon, close up shop… but in the meantime, its another quiet summer evening – just me, my aerosol spray, and Pete.
